New year, fresh start

2018. Can you believe it’s the new year again?

I am excited to start this year with the intention of staying confident in myself because my WHY is to help and empower others. Help and empower them to do what? Live their best life through health and movement…by keeping it simple.

Let’s focus on 3 topics: movement, nutrition and restoration.

Move in any way that makes you feel good.

I like to feel strong, make sure I keep my body moving well and get a good sweat in. I get to workout/move my body 4-6 times a week. Full body strength movements 2-3x/week, cardio focused workouts 1-2x/week, and 1 day of low-impact cardio and/or mobility work.

Eat balanced meals and drink all the water.

My “diet” consists of everything. Anyone that knows me, knows I love food. The key is to keep it balanced- proteins, carbs and fats with each meal. Keep your plates colorful with vegetables, fruits and grains. I regularly prepare my meals and snacks at home. I do also enjoy eating out- quality dishes and goods only!

Listen to and rest your body when it needs.

Sleeping, stretching, breathing, meditating, getting a massage…these are all wonderful ways to treat your body and allow it to continue to serve you. Instead of going HAM all the time, let’s give our body some TLC. I take at least one day to just move my body, foam roll and stretch, like a weekly assessment of how my body is feeling. Also I get 7-9 hours of sleep each night.

Nothing crazy or extreme. Just living life simply to feel great and move well forever!

This is my way to keep in touch with clients, friends, family and anyone that loves living in a healthy active way. These are purely my thoughts and opinions as a personal trainer, fitness enthusiast, water advocate and eating aficionado.

  • What are you excited for in 2018?
  • In what ways do you like to move, nourish and treat your body?
  • Is there anything you want to learn more about or discuss?
